Signed Shizan Taisho Period Peacock & Cherry Blossoms Satsuma Vase 1912 - 1926
Beautiful Taisho Period Satsuma vase. Expertly decorated with a hand painted peacock in black, red, green and blue with gold gilt highlights. With pink cherry blossoms, orange, and blue flowers all framed in gold gilding. With two smaller birds on the back in pink, blue, yellow, black and gold gilt. Has gold gilt pattern over red around the bottom and around the top. With gold gilding along the foot rim and around the opening. Marked on the base Shizan. Circa 1912 to 1926.
Very minor wear to the gilding, but otherwise excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
Measures approximately 4 inches wide x 8 1/2 inches tall.
This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
